About

Jess Foday

I am a first-year student at The University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, majoring in Media and Journalism at the Hussman School. I am pursuing a Spanish language minor and will be studying abroad this summer in Central America.

I am a reporter for Pit Perspectives, an award-winning student-led podcast that collects candid anonymous UNC student opinions on social topics.

I am a Global Gap Year fellow with the Campus Y, and I participated in a year of service in the 2021-2022 academic year. During my service year, I spent three months in northern Minnesota camping and working in political organizing with the Sierra Club and other environmental activist organizations. From January-April 2022 I worked on multiple organic farms in Vieques and Las Marias Puerto Rico.
